Starting school or work in a new country can be daunting. As part of Cambridge Trust's on-going commitment to Harvard and MIT international students and scholars, we would like to ease your transition by helping you establish your local bank account before you arrive on campus.
All of our accounts feature personal attention from qualified bankers dedicated to answering your questions and addressing your needs. Our simple three step account opening program makes establishing a relationship a smooth process prior to your arrival for school.
Open an Account
- Email a copy of your passport and acceptance letter or Certificate of Eligibility for J-1 Exchange Visitor Status to the contact listed below
- Send a confirming e-mail to the attention of the contact listed below
- Review the glossary of banking terms to familiarize yourself with some banking terminology
- Establish a checking account in your name and assign an account number upon reciept of a signed signature card
- Provide you with our wire transfer instructions, which will enable you to transfer money from your bank to Cambridge Trust before you leave home. We will waive the initial fee for the incoming international wire.
- Come into the Bank to obtain a new debit and order checks and meet your banking team
