Whether receiving paid time off to volunteer, supporting local organizations through philanthropic commitments, or providing the best in banking and wealth management services to community-focused ventures—commerce and cause are synonymous in how we lead and innovate as a company.End Quote

A partnership to advance affordable housing

We demonstrate our commitment to affordable housing through our relationship with Massachusetts Housing Partnership. We are driven to help provide housing to those who need it most – especially at a time when many households spend more than half their income on rent.

Our $100 million voluntary loan contribution to MHP is one of the largest of its kind in the U.S.

Financial literacy

We prioritize financial education to help our neighbors better understand what’s possible – regardless of whether they are customers of Cambridge Trust.

We’ve delivered 30 classes and helped over 1,500 people learn more about topics like homebuying and improving their credit.

Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)

Enacted by Congress in 1977, the CRA is a federal statute that encourages financial institutions to help meet the credit needs of their operational communities, including low- and moderate-income borrowers. We maintain and monitor our efforts that support our communities through a Cambridge Trust Company CRA to effectively serve our constituents.

Employee giving

In addition to performing a corporate day of service each year, every employee is given eight hours of paid time off annually for other volunteer activities. Many also donate their time and talents to a variety of nonprofit organizations across Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Our team provided 2,000 volunteer hours in 2021.
