Boston, Mass. – Cambridge Trust Company celebrated the opening of its 12th branch at 565 Tremont Street, in Boston’s South End, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Cambridge Trust Company president and CEO, Joe Roller, was joined by Kevin Hepner, president and CEO of United South End Settlements (USES), at the ceremony to commemorate the opening.

"The new branch is an opportunity for Cambridge Trust Company to better serve the residents of the South End and surrounding neighborhoods," noted Mr. Roller. "This new location is well-positioned to bring our long-standing tradition of attentive customer service and local market expertise to current and prospective customers in the community."

In honor of the occasion, Mr. Roller presented a multi-year pledge of $10,000 to USES. The mission of USES is to build a strong community by improving the education, health, safety, and economic security of low-income individuals and families in Boston's historic South End/Lower Roxbury neighborhood and to serve as a national model of successful neighborhood engagement. The Bank's contribution will be directed toward USES' Workplace Readiness program which ensures that participants have the education and opportunities they need to move toward economic self-sufficiency.

Mr. Hepner said, "United South End Settlements is grateful to Cambridge Trust Company for this generous gift in support of USES' more than 121-year old legacy of helping some of Boston's most vulnerable people of all ages.  We are delighted to welcome a business into the South End that is obviously committed to all who choose to live and work here."

The South End office is staffed with experienced and knowledgeable banking professionals. The branch is managed by John Chambers, a South End resident, who comes to Cambridge Trust from TD Bank. The South End team includes Joanne Tamasi, assistant branch manager, and Charles Gunn and Anita Dutt who serve as tellers. Jason DeMello, business banking officer, also maintains an office at the branch.

Cambridge Trust invites everyone to visit the new South End branch to pick up a free eco-friendly bag and to take advantage of their special checking offer, featuring a $100 award card, available through January 31, 2013.
