Mr. Lynch leads the Cambridge Trust investment team with an emphasis on global asset allocation and portfolio construction to meet client goals.  The investment team internally manages custom strategies of single-name stocks and bonds that are supplemented with external managers and diversifying asset classes.  In addition, the investment team manages a global asset allocation strategy of ETFs, a model mutual fund strategy and an enhanced cash fixed income strategy.  He has also served on the Sustainability Committee for the bank.

David has more than 25 years of experience in global markets. Prior to joining Cambridge Trust, he was Managing Partner and Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Athena Capital where he led the firm’s wealth management effort across both public and private markets for ultra high net worth families, foundations and endowments for nearly 14 years.  Prior to Athena Capital, Mr. Lynch served as the portfolio manager for emerging markets fixed income at Colorado PERA (the state pension fund), in addition to other roles throughout corporate, sovereign and asset-backed securities analysis.  Earlier in his career, he was a research associate at Eaton Vance Management in Boston covering mortgage-backed securities, derivatives, sovereign bonds and currencies.  He began his career as an economist at Cahners Economics. 

Mr. Lynch earned an MBA from Babson College and a BA from Dartmouth College.  He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the Boston Economic Club and the CFA Society of Boston.  He has been quoted in numerous publications and is the co-author of “Social Finance and the Postmodern Portfolio: Theory & Practice,” published in The Journal of Wealth Management (Spring 2016).
